Why Tony Is Standing
A proud Wellingtonian and long-time Northern/Takapū Ward advocate, Tony is committed to ensuring his community continues to have a strong, independent voice at the Council table. He has worked tirelessly to back local residents, listening carefully to what matters most — and just as importantly, what doesn’t. Determined to stand firm on the issues that count, Tony is focused on keeping the Council accountable and putting people before politics.
He is passionate about his work and says:
-
The Council needs to listen and accept resident and business feedback. No more political ideology.•
-
Northern Ward communities need more investment such as a new indoor Rec Centre, and both Churton Park and Tawa’s Community Centres need upgrading
-
Council policy must focus on doing the basics well and on making the city affordable, accessible and safe. Council investment priorities need to focus on essential services for the community.
